Vape Pens and Pipe Screens

Vape Pens and Pipe Screens

As we know vape pens are some of the most discrete and healthiest mechanisms to smoking herbal material however there have been some qualms in the past about how vape pens don’t vaporize herbal material but mostly burn it. They are partially right, because vape pens are more designed to be discrete, the technology can be limited for certain vape pens however there is a simple cost effective solution that ensures vaporization is reached and that is through pipe screens! There are two types of Pipe Screens you can use for vape pens, glass and metal. We will go through the advantages and disadvantages of both below.

Metal Pipe Screens:Metal Pipe Screens
These pipe screens usually come in packets of 5 or so. Metal Pipe Screens are relatively inexpensive which is good if you tend to lose things more often than not..Metal Pipe Screens are disposable meaning after a good amount of use you can change them, they are also more customizable meaning you can shape them to the size of the inside of your vape pen to insure a snug fit. You can find metal pipe screens in any head shop or online shop for cheap.

Glass Pipe Screens:
Glass screenThese pipe screens are more expensive, (10 metal pipe screens usually equate to 1 glass screen) but more durable meaning you can use it for a longer time because glass is more heat resistant than metal. While in the long run these screens are the best bet they are not customizable unless you are a skilled glass cutter meaning you have to measure the circumference of the screen to your vape pen,

How Pipe Screens work in Your Vape pen:
As stated above we usually recommend metal pipe screens unless there is a specific glass pipe screen that fits your pen vaporizer. Here we will assume you are using a metal pipe screen.

Step 1: see how big the chamber is for your vape pen
Step 2: If the Pipe Screen exceeds the width of the chamber then you can cut it to the desired size
Step 3: Place pipe screen inside and insure that it is just above the coil and is snug so it does not fall out.

This whole process insures that there is no burning of herbal material and that the device is designed to do what it says which is vaporize! After multiple uses (or once the pipe screen is completly black change the pipe screen and repeat the above steps to insure a healthy vape pen. this process also insures that the coil lasts longer on your vape pen because after all if you keep putting herbal material on the coil it eventually gets all gunked up to the point where it will lose connection and not work.
We find that VanCity Smoke-shop is great with this because with each purchase of one of their vape pens they include pipe screens.
